Quality Conservation Services (QCS) provides FREE (no sales or retail work) energy-saving improvements to moderate- and lower-income households in the 6-county Greater Bay Area and the 4-county Greater Los Angeles Area under long term, multi-year contracts funded by California utilities, including Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), Southern California Gas (SCG) and Southwest Gas (SWG).
In addition to regular hourly pay, our pay plans typically feature generous bonuses, incentives, and overtime provisions. There have been no lay-offs due to lack of work, poor economy, or lack of payments by customers. Our ESA programs have been continuously government- and utility-funded since the 1980s. Current utility funding is already committed through at least 2026. Funding for employee salaries and benefits was continued even during last year's Covid shut-downs.
You may transfer with Quality Conservation throughout Bay Area or Greater LA area. You can also transfer your skills throughout California since all California utilities run the exact same program. Similar programs are also available in all other states as well.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Paid training provided. Performs minor home repair type work installing FREE residential weatherization materials and energy-saving appliances and applications such as door and window repairs, LED lighting, aerators, showerheads and weather stripping, etc. In addition, Weatherization Installers perform energy audits and advise clients on energy conservation measures. Work is primarily indoors, and there is no downtime due to inclement weather. Ground-level work with no roof or high-ladder work. Free work uniforms provided as well as full PPE (personal protective equipment) gear. Transportation between warehouse and work sites provided.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Detail-oriented and respectful of the homes of others. Handy with home repairs and tools, or with detail-oriented skills such as sewing. Any knowledge of door and window repairs, interior decorating, insulation, and lighting is a plus. Applicants should have good customer relations skills, higher than average attention to detail, and basic math capabilities. Able to pass driving record, drug screening, and criminal background checks.
Outreach Energy Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION: Paid training. NO SALES. The Outreach/Energy Specialist educates, determines eligibility, and enrolls middle- and lower-income families to receive FREE utility-funded energy-saving improvements during in-home visits. Advise families on energy-saving improvements and practices. Full and part-time positions are available. Expenses plus bonuses provided.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Friendly, personable applicants with an interest in customer service and helping others strongly preferred. Applicants must visit potential participants at home. Vehicle required. Bi- or multi-lingual preferred; self-motivated. The ability to pass a driving record, drug screening, and criminal background check is a requirement.
Appliance / HVAC Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Appliance Technician's primary job duty is to install, repair, and troubleshoot A/C, furnaces and ducts, water heaters, and refrigerators in residential single-family and multifamily homes. Work is primarily indoors, and there is no downtime due to inclement weather. Free work uniforms provided as well as full PPE (personal protective equipment) gear. Transportation between warehouse and work sites provided.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Paid training provided. Preferred candidates will have experience in troubleshooting and installing residential heating systems and the associated tools. The ideal candidate will also have experience working on residential air conditioning systems, knowledge of California Title 24 standards, and an EPA card. In addition, candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed, have a clean driving record, and pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Insulation Technician's primary job duty is to install blown fiberglass insulation and rolled fiberglass insulation into residential homes and install required venting. Extensive attic work, but little or no roof or high-ladder work. Free work uniforms provided as well as full PPE (personal protective equipment) gear. Transportation between warehouse and work sites provided.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Paid Training provided. Candidates must be medically capable of any squatting and kneeling needed to work in attics, lifting up to 40 lbs. (a typical 4-year-old), and working in an attic during winter and summer. Candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed, have a clean driving record, and pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
Office and Data Entry Staff
JOB DESCRIPTION: Paid training. Review and, if necessary, correct enrollment and installation work orders. Enter the corrected data into various databases and produce work reports for management as requested; file the completed reports.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Entry-level positions require only a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and good math skills. Familiarity with general office procedures, email and data processing, and experience working full-time at a computer terminal is preferred.
The ideal candidate would have 2+ years of full-time data entry experience with FileMaker Pro or its equivalent.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Paid training. Primary responsibilities include contacting (phone, text and email) actual and potential program participants to install free improvements, update scheduling databases, and create work reports.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: Must be bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and communicate well within either language. Strong organizational and pleasant phone skills will be required, and the ability to work closely with a small team of schedulers. Ideally, the candidate will have 2+ years of customer service phone experience, scheduling, or dispatching for a home improvements company. Attention to detail is critical.
Canvasser, Phone, and Door-to-Door
JOB DESCRIPTION: Canvassers will spend their time initiating contact with the public and will walk and/or phone neighborhoods and communities to connect with people with the goal of setting appointments and creating awareness for the Energy Savings Assistance Program sponsored by local gas and electric companies. NO SALES. Just connect with homeowners and renters. Our programs provide free home improvements to income-qualified homeowners and renters. The utility company pays for these improvements, so canvassers just have to explain the benefits of the program and schedule enrollment appointments.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: No experience required. Candidates must be willing to canvass neighborhoods door to door and/or by phone, work overtime as needed, have a clean driving record and pass a drug screening and criminal background check. Multi-lingual capability preferred. Often an entry-level position while training for office or outreach specialist.
